We're excited to introduce our web developer, Elspeth! While new to our team, Elspeth has been a friend of The Squad for a while and we are so glad she is now a full-time member of The Squad!

How's it going? I'm Elspeth Curtis and here's a little about me and what I love about the Squad.

My Background

I went to UMD - College Park - where I studied Philosophy and Mathematics. I had always wanted to experience another culture and was looking for a way to help people so I found my way to E’town KY as an AmeriCorps VISTA where I worked at United Way of Central KY running their Bank On program and creating their VITA site.  I liked experiencing a different culture so much that I decided to take it to the international level and moved abroad to South Korea where I taught English at a Hagwon (private school).

Coming back to the states I worked for a time at a company that developed textbooks. Needless to say at this point while I had many different professional experiences, I hadn’t found my professional home. It was at this development company that I volunteered to assist with building their new website and something clicked into place. Since then I have been learning and growing into what I hope will be my professional home for the rest of my life - web development. I am excited to build websites with The Squad because of the intentionality that goes into each project.

What I Do At The Squad

As a web developer, I get to problem solve and build things. I get to figure out how to bring the client’s vision, which has been so thoughtfully designed by other members of The Squad, to life.

What’s your favorite thing about The Marketing Squad?

The openness of communication and kindness of everyone who works there.
