Hurstbourne Christian Church is located off Nottingham Parkway in Louisville, KY. The church prides itself on being diverse with people from different places, experiences, and points of view, who all share a common faith in Jesus as Lord and Savior.
With sermons coming in weekly, a calendar full of events, and so many activities happening in the midst of it all, how could we design a website that was not only visually appealing but that was also functional? HCC wanted to house past sermons and make those available as podcasts, they wanted a functioning calendar to keep the community aware of upcoming events, and they needed the color scheme to be inviting to those who might be checking out the church for the first time.
Making the website mobile responsive was one of the most important solutions. Now, members and visitors can access the site on any mobile device or tablet and quickly see sermon times, schedule of events, or listen to a past sermon. The home page is organized in a way that focuses on the information visitors would want to know first, like sermon times, childcare, and opportunities for older children. The calendar feature is updated in real-time and syncs with the church's Gmail account. Now community-wide, members and visitors can get involved and stay connected.
