Nikki approached The Squad with a concept for a high-end consignment concept named “Belle Monde Boutique.” Her goal was to develop a lifestyle brand that not only served the local community through a brick and mortar consignment boutique, but also inspired and empowered women through a social media and web presence.
Nikki was a passionate client. She made her fashion choices with care and precision; and wanted a brand that reflected her vision and tagline “fashioning a more beautiful world.”
To get Belle Monde Boutique off the ground, Nikki needed branding, a website to showcase the boutique’s clothing, and photography of the clothing.
We began by exploring logo and color pallette options for Belle Monde. Nikki was heavily inspired by Reese Witherspoon’s “Draper James” branding. As we explored variations, we leaned into “Southern charm” combined with “elegant taste.”
The final logo the client selected included a tasteful san-serif font, a simple illustrated floral element, and a color palette of a rich navy blue and pale green. Once we selected lifestyle photography and did an internal photoshoot with Nikki and a selection of clothing models, her brand started to take shape.
The Marketing Squad produced a branding package that allowed Nikki to carefully craft her lifestyle brand experience as customers moved between her website, social media accounts, and her new brick and mortar boutique.
Belle Monde: Beautiful Woman | Fashionable World
The ultimate goal of the photography for Belle Monde was to give customers the option to see the clothing online before ordering.
In order to capture product shots that would bring the clothing to life, we knew it would be important to showcase the clothes on a person rather than a form. Belle Monde was able to provide models and they came into the office with several carts of clothes.
On the day of the shoot, we captured multiple angles of each item in order to show customers the whole piece of clothing as well as highlight the special design elements of each piece.
Often, an outfit was made up of multiple articles of clothing that were for sale, so having a detailed organization structure was crucial. As a part of the editing process, we tagged each item in the photos to better organize them on the site.
Nikki wanted a website that gave her boutique a digital presence. With the growth in online shopping, Nikki wanted to appeal to a broader audience of women in the community who may start their shopping experience online before coming into the brick and mortar location.
Our goal was to create a digital space that reflected Belle Monde’s brand and the hospitality you would be met with when you walked into the actual boutique.
Additionally, the website needed to be a source for lifestyle resources and content geared towards empowering women.
To achieve these goals, we created a customer-centric layout for the homepage and navigation to quickly display the clothing items for sale. We also created intentional spaces for encouraging and empowering content, such as the blog and the featured story on the homepage.
Finally, we developed a special page of the site to connect potential consigners with the opportunity to partner with Belle Monde to sell their items. Direct call to actions across the site led consigners to this page where they could learn more about the consigning process, the benefits, and how to get started.
